How to get your file under a size limit
Most forms name their limit in the error message, something like "file must be smaller than 500 KB". Pick that number as your target, or the closest preset under it, and the tool does the rest. There is no quality setting to fiddle with: it automatically finds the sharpest version of your photo or scan that fits the size you picked. If the form still rejects the upload, check whether it also requires a specific format such as JPG, and try a slightly smaller target to leave some margin.
